Operation:Clear up Beth’s skin.

So, I’ve suffered with bad skin for the whole of my teenage years and now that I’m staring down the barrel of 20, I’m starting to think that something needs to be done to finally be rid of the horridness that’s on my face…and start walking down the street with a new, confident glowing persona (that’s the aim anyway.)

I’ve heard from a fair few people that Lush products are a wonder for your skin because of how natural and organic their ingredients are, and at this stage I’ll try anything so I thought ‘why not, I’ll give them a go.’

So yesterday before work, I popped into Lush to get some desperate advice on how to help my poor skin, and that’s what I got! Some great, really helpful advice and even left with some products and product samples to get me on my way.

Firstly, I was introduced to UltraBland. After seeing my boyfriend buy this due to so many amazing recommendations, I was pretty convinced when she told me straight away that this is what I need to be using. I was told that the drag queens in RuPaul’s drag race in ¬†America use this product to remove their makeup which I found pretty cool. I found the concept of rubbing this in over a full face of makeup quite odd to start with, but if it gets results; I’m on board. I used this last night and this morning and it really did make my skin feel amazing right away.

Next was the Tea Tree toner water. This is used on a cotton wool pad to wipe off the UltraBland and any makeup/dirt underneath. It’s pretty gross seeing all of the dirt coming off of your face onto the pad…but it’s made me want to use it all the time. It’s also got a nice lavender-y smell. These were the two products that I bought because they sold me straight away.

I was then shown a great moisturiser called Enzymion which is great for oily skin which I have. On their website, it says that they use a whole fresh lemon in every pot to stop shining of the skin. The lady described it to me as, “think of it as having little pacman’s inside it that eat away all the dead skin cells.” …yeah I can work with that… This also has a gorgeous citrus smell.

I expressed my biggest peeve about my skin and that’s my acne. So she recommended a few products but the Mask of Mag appealed to me the most. A thick, green face mask applied once or twice a week for about 10 minutes to really improve your spots over a period of time. She was generous enough to let me have these two products as free samples to see how I get on with them before committing to them.

So yeah I’m pretty excited to replace my old skin routine with this new fresh one and more importantly see some results!! I’ll keep ya posted.
